Become A High School BIG!

BTHS is proud to begin an exciting new partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties and Freehold Borough School District to create a High School Bigs Mentoring Program!

For over a century, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been helping change kids’ perspectives and giving them the opportunity to reach their potential. The program is designed to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister is a significant responsibility. All BTHS Big Brothers and Sisters must make a commitment to meet with their Little Brothers and Sisters every other Thursday, for the entire school year, from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm at the Freehold Intermediate School. Click here to view the tentative mentoring program calendar.

The application and screening process to become a Big Brother or Big Sister is extensive. Printed copies of the application are available in the Main Office from Mrs. Mellerup. We'll also have applications available at the Club Fair on Thursday. If you prefer, you can download and print the application by clicking here.

Applications are due in Mr. Brown's mailbox by 7:30 am on Monday, September 30. Late applications will not be accepted.

Big Brothers Big Sisters will be hosting an Information Session at BTHS on Tuesday, September 24 during lunch in Room 102. In order to apply to be a Big Brother or Big Sister, you must attend this Information Session. Please arrive promptly at 10:25 am. Click here to sign up for the Info Session.

We hope that many Biotech students take advantage of this opportunity to make a meaningful and life-long difference in the lives of children in need. Feel free to reach out to Mr. Brown with any questions.
